The African Union of Broadcasters (AUB) has unveiled an ambitious project — a Pan-African docuseries titled “Road to LA ’28” — that will chronicle the continent’s journey and preparation toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The docuseries is set to spotlight African athletes, coaches, and federations as they gear up for one of the world’s biggest sporting stages. It will feature behind-the-scenes training, personal stories of resilience, and cultural narratives that highlight how sports connect with Africa’s identity and global representation.
According to AUB officials, the project is not just about competition; it is about telling authentic African stories to the world. The series will celebrate African sporting excellence, cultural diversity, and the unity of nations under the Olympic spirit.
The “Road to LA ’28” series will also include commentary from legends of African sports, exclusive interviews with rising talents, and coverage of qualifying events leading up to the Games. The aim is to inspire young Africans, create global awareness of African athletes’ journeys, and promote the continent’s role in international sports.
The docuseries is expected to air across multiple African broadcast networks and will be made available for international distribution, ensuring Africa’s narrative is told on a global scale ahead of the Los Angeles Olympics.
This marks a significant step for the AUB in using sports storytelling as a tool to project Africa’s voice worldwide.
