The vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria, played host to the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) on May 10, 2025, celebrating the best in African film and television. The star-studded ceremony brought together the continent’s top creatives, and one film stood out above the rest — Seven Doors.
The gripping drama emerged as a major winner of the night, earning critical acclaim and audience praise for its storytelling and stellar performances. Leading the accolades were Femi Adebayo, who took home the Best Actor award, and Chioma Chukwuka, who won Best Actress, both for their powerful roles in Seven Doors.
In addition to recognizing emerging talent, the AMVCA also paid tribute to industry legends. Beloved veteran actor Nkem Owoh and filmmaker Sani Mu’azu were honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards, celebrating their decades of impactful work in African cinema and television.
The 2025 AMVCA reaffirmed its role as Africa’s premier award platform, spotlighting excellence, creativity, and cultural influence across the continent’s entertainment industry.
