Afrobeats heavyweight Wizkid is officially back in album mode—and fans are buzzing after he hosted a surprise listening party in Lagos, where he teased unreleased tracks and hinted at the release date for his highly anticipated next project.
The exclusive event, held at a private venue in Victoria Island on Saturday night, brought out major industry figures, celebrity guests, and influencers. Phones were locked away as Big Wiz previewed what he called “a personal, spiritual album” to a handpicked audience.
Sources at the event say the project explores themes of growth, loss, love, and legacy, blending Wizkid’s signature Afro-fusion style with elements of jazz, soul, and amapiano. One track, rumored to be titled “IDK” featuring Olamide, reportedly received a standing ovation.
During a brief address to the audience, Wizkid said:
> “This one is for the real fans, for the day-ones. I’ve been silent, but I’ve been working. Expect it real soon.”
While he didn’t confirm the exact date, hints from attendees and close collaborators suggest the album could drop as early as July 2025. The artist’s label, Starboy Entertainment, is expected to make an official announcement in the coming weeks.
This will be Wizkid’s first full-length project since “More Love, Less Ego” in 2022, and fans are already flooding social media with excitement and speculation about potential features, including rumored collaborations with Tems, Ayra Starr, and Don Toliver.
With this surprise move, Wizkid proves once again why he remains one of Africa’s most influential music exports—balancing mystery, artistry, and mass appeal with ease.
