Nigerian music video director ThankGod Omori Jesam, popularly known as TG Omori, has recently shared a significant milestone in his career. Despite being one of the most sought-after directors in the Nigerian music industry, Omori revealed that he only began making profits from his work in 2023. Prior to this, he struggled with production debts for several years, which he eventually settled through earnings from his personal brand.
Omori's journey has been marked by both professional achievements and personal challenges. In August 2024, he underwent an unsuccessful kidney transplant at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, after receiving a donation from his only brother. Following the surgery, Omori faced a difficult recovery period, during which he deactivated his social media accounts.
However, demonstrating resilience, Omori returned to social media to update his fans on his condition. He shared a new photo showcasing his changed appearance and expressed his determination to overcome his health challenges. In a tweet, he stated, "Pain has no power over me; it is only a matter of time for the body to fail if my mind is defeated." He further assured his supporters of his comeback, writing, "I'll be back 2025. Stay in love."
Omori's contributions to the Nigerian music industry are noteworthy. He has directed music videos for numerous top artists, including Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake. His work is known for its exceptional visual storytelling, which has earned him several awards, such as the Best Music Video Director of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2019 and the AFRIMMA award in 2020.
As Omori focuses on his recovery, his optimistic outlook and dedication to his craft continue to inspire fans and the entertainment community.
