Fena Gitu Announces “Queen Vibes Only” – Kenya's First All-Female Music & Art Festival

Kenya’s beloved “Fenamenal Woman” and genre-bending artist Fena Gitu has announced a groundbreaking all-female music and art festival titled “Queen Vibes Only”, set to take place in Nairobi on August 3, 2025.
The event, which will feature an exclusive lineup of women performers, DJs, visual artists, and creatives, is being hailed as a historic celebration of female talent and empowerment across East Africa’s creative industries.
Fena made the announcement via Instagram Live, revealing a bold purple-and-gold logo and a powerful tagline:“No Kings, Just Queens.”
> “This has been my dream for years. A safe, vibrant, and unapologetically feminine space where women creatives can shine, be heard, and celebrated,” Fena told fans.“It’s time we shifted the spotlight.”

“Queen Vibes Only” will spotlight artists across genres including Afro-pop, hip-hop, soul, gengetone, spoken word, and electronic music. The festival will also host panel discussions, pop-up art galleries, and wellness spaces — all curated by women.
Confirmed performers so far include:
Muthoni Drummer Queen
Xenia Manasseh
Nazizi
DJ Redbone
Wangechi

The event will be held at the Ngong Racecourse, a symbolic venue for culture-forward events in Nairobi.
Fena also announced that part of the proceeds will go toward supporting grassroots organizations that empower young women in music and digital media. The festival is expected to become an annual platform for visibility and opportunity for female creatives from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and beyond.
Social media erupted with support following the announcement. The hashtag #QueenVibesOnly quickly began trending in Kenya, with fans and fellow artists praising the initiative as timely and revolutionary.
> “Fena is leading a movement. Not just a concert — this is culture being shifted,” tweeted Kenyan rapper Wangechi.

Tickets for “Queen Vibes Only” go on sale June 15 via the festival’s official site and selected outlets.
