The King of Modern Afrobeats is taking his "Timeless" energy to a whole new level. Davido has officially announced his first-ever curated UK festival, "Davido & Friends," scheduled to take over London’s iconic Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14, 2026.

The announcement comes at a pivotal moment in the superstar’s career as he reinforces his commitment to the roots of the genre.

A Landmark Event in London

The "Davido & Friends" festival isn't just another concert; it's a curated celebration of African excellence. By choosing the Crystal Palace Bowl—a venue steeped in musical history—Davido is positioning Afrobeats on a grander stage. Fans can expect a star-studded lineup featuring both established icons and the hottest rising stars from across the continent.

Back to the Roots: "Authentic African Sounds"

In a recent sit-down regarding his upcoming projects, Davido made a bold statement that has the industry talking. He revealed that his next musical era will focus strictly on "authentic African sounds," intentionally moving away from "chasing Western trends" or over-commercializing his style for global charts.

"We don’t need to change who we are to be heard," Davido shared. "The world is already listening. My new music is for the streets of Lagos, Accra, and Johannesburg. If it’s authentic to us, it’s authentic to the world."

What to Expect

The Lineup: While the "Friends" in the festival title remain under wraps, rumors are already swirling about potential appearances from frequent collaborators and OBO’s protégés.

The Vibe: Attendees can expect a blend of high-energy Afropop, soulful Highlife influences, and the heavy Amapiano log drums that have defined recent hits.

New Music: With the festival set for August, insiders suggest a new album—built on those "authentic sounds"—could drop just in time for the summer heat.
