The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) took place on May 10, 2025, at the Exhibition Center, Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria. Hosted by IK Osakioduwa and sponsored by Amstel Malta, the ceremony honored excellence in television, film, and digital content creation across Africa.
Major Winners
Best Film: Freedom Way, produced by Blessing Uzzi, clinched the coveted Best Film award.
Best Actor in a Drama: Femi Adebayo received this award for his role in Seven Doors.
Best Actress in a Drama: Chioma Chukwuka was honored for her performance in Seven Doors.
Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa): Lisabi: The Uprising, directed by Lateef Adedimeji and Adebimpe Oyebade Adedimeji, won this category.
Notable Awards
Best Supporting Actress: Mercy Aigbe won for her role in Farmer’s Bride.
Best Supporting Actor: Gabriel Afolayan was recognized for his performance in Inside Life.
Best Makeup: Hakeem Onilogbo (Hakeem Effect) secured this award for his work on Lisabi: The Uprising.
Best Art Direction: The team behind Lisabi: The Uprising also won in this category.
Best Sound Design: The award went to the team of Suspicion.
Best Editing: Tongai Furusa was honored for his work on Inkabi.
Best Music Score: Tolu Obanro received this award for Seven Doors.
