EIIAFRICA EXCLUSIVE: Queen Petrah Opens Up About Her Music Life

Ghanaian singer Queen Petrah sat with EIIAFRICA for an honest conversation about her music journey — how she started, what shaped her, and what keeps her going. Speaking with confidence and passion, Petrah shared the real story behind her life in music.

“Music has always been part of me.”

Queen Petrah began by telling us that music was never a random choice — it was something she grew up with.

“I started singing when I was young,” she said. “Even before I understood what being an artist truly meant, I just loved singing. I would sing at home, in school, and anywhere I found a rhythm.”

For her, music became a way to express herself when words felt too small.

Finding Her Voice

Petrah talked about how she struggled at first to discover the type of artist she wanted to be.

“When I started, I didn’t know my sound yet. I tried different styles until I found what felt natural. I love Afrobeats, I love dancehall, and I love soft, emotional music — so I blend all of them. My sound is just… me.”

She explained that her confidence grew with time as she recorded more songs and learned more about the industry.

Challenges She Had to Face

Her story wasn’t perfect, and she didn’t hide that.

“People see the glamour, but they don’t see the challenges. There were days I didn’t have the right people around me. There were times I felt like giving up. Studio sessions cost money, visuals cost money, and sometimes people don’t support you until the whole world starts talking about you.”

But she said those difficulties made her stronger and pushed her to take her career seriously.

What Inspires Her Music

Petrah said her music comes from real life.

“I write from what I’ve seen, what I’ve felt, or what people close to me go through. I want my songs to reflect truth — something people can connect with.”

Every track she releases carries a piece of her experiences and emotions.

Her Growth as an Artist

Over the years, Queen Petrah has seen herself evolve.

“I’m not the same artist I was when I dropped my first song. I’ve grown. My voice is better, my writing is better, and I understand the business more. Every new song shows how far I’ve come.”

She also mentioned that she is now more confident, more prepared, and more focused than ever.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Queen Petrah

Petrah revealed that she has new music coming, new visuals, and plans for bigger stages.

I’m working on new projects. I want to take my music beyond Ghana. I want Africa to feel me, the world to feel me. This is just the beginning.”

Her Message to Fans

To wrap up, Queen Petrah shared a heartfelt message:
“To everyone supporting me, thank you. Your love keeps me moving. I’m doing this for you. Expect greatness from me.”
